This site is running squash ladder PHP - a web / browser based application to automate the process of running a squash ladder. Challenges are made online and the challenger and challengee receive emails to notify them of when they need to play the match by. Reminders are sent out if the game is unplayed and if no result is recorded by a certain time the match is forfeited and the challenger wins!

The squash ladder administrator can modify certain parameters such as the challenge period and the 'grace' period for recording results of overdue games. Furthermore there is a mini content management system so that the ladder administrator can post messages and announcements such as this one here. There is also an information page with customisable squash ladder rules as well as squash lessons, squash rules etc. You can even have your club logo added.

You may start challenging at any point from now onwards. If you are away it is advisable to move yourself to a resting player however on your return you will have to start from the bottom of the ladder but it should not take too long to challenge up to the top if you can win all your matches then it only takes 4 or 5 matches.

You will have noticed a points score appear next to player names on the rankings page (if logged in). This is a trial points rating system based on the classic Elo system. Players will be awarded points for winning and lose points for losing depending on how difficult the system calculates your opponent to be. It will take a few games to settle down the scoring system. Currently the rating is displayed for information purposes only but in future it will be possible to arrange the ladder ranking system around this points score.
